Green Man Brotherhood

Our remote ancestors said to Mother Earth:

‘We are yours’

Modern humanity has said to nature:

‘You are mine’

The Green Man has returned as the living face of the whole earth so that through his mouth we may say to the Universe:

‘We are One’

- Exerpt from “Green Man: The Archetype of Our Oneness with the Earth” by William Anderson

Coming in February: A Men’s Winter Gathering

Who is the Green Man?

The Green Man represents the Oneness of Humanity and the natural world. It is depicted as a foliate head. It has many links to ancient mythology and religious and cultural folklore.

Some consistent themes include:

  • Symbols of rebirth, rejuvenation and the cycle of life and death.

  • Wilderness, forests, animal habitats

  • Fertility and Health

  • Oneness with Earth (Tree of Life)

The re-emergence of this archetype in humanity’s consciousness is indicative of what is needed most from men and humanity as a whole at this time
